Cagora - Social Networking Made Easy

Over the last few months you have probably heard the phrase "Social Networking" used quite often. You may be asking yourself, "what IS Social Networking!?!" Here on Cagora - It's All About Community, we believe that Social Networking is the single most important phrase you'll hear!

To best explain Social Networking, I have used the fantastic Web2.0 service - Youtube to help explain. This video by commoncraft not only will explain everything you need to know, but is guaranteed to put a smile on your face!

By now, many of you are probably thinking "wow, i have myspace or facebook accounts". GREAT! But are you using them to you advantage? How many friends are in your network? What other Social Networking sites do you use?

Did you know that Cagora is also a Social Networking service?

Cagora - Community Gardening

From time to time we hear about people doing things in their communities that inspire cofidence in humankind, bring a smile to your face and show that communities are alive and strong. Today, Cagora - It's All About Community takes a journey down the garden path into the heart of Community Gardening.

Community gardening has been around for well over 100 years in the U.S. and reportedly much longer throughout the rest of the world.

"From the last 1800's through the 1940's, the main purpose of community gardens in the U.S. was to grow food"

Garden Mosaics

Community Gardens are, in their most simplistic form, a Garden which is shared by a community. By "Community", I refer to meaning anything from a group of neighbours, an entire street, or a community with common bonds such as a disability community.

One such Community Garden exists in Vancouver, Canada, called MOBY (My Own Back Yard). MOBY is a success story that quite literally began with an overflowing dumpster. The following video is a documentary by "Peak Moment" on the MOBY Community Garden.

MOBY does not stand alone. Across America and around the world communities are bonding over fruit and vegetables and helping change their communities one plant seed at a time. We here at Cagora - It's All About Community would like to offer our praise to the founders of MOBY and all those around the world involved in Community Gardens. You are an inspiration to us all.
